SAUNA GUIDELINES

Consult your doctor to find out whether using a sauna is suitable for you or whether it could be dangerous. People with heart, liver, or kidney problems should not use a sauna without the express recommendation of their doctor.

Set aside enough time to recharge your batteries, at least 90 minutes, but two hours is ideal.

You should not go to the sauna on a full stomach, but you should not go hungry either. Before using the sauna, it is essential that you take a shower first. If you use creams and makeup, you should wash thoroughly, preferably with soap and water, to prepare your skin for the sauna. For warming up and relaxation, we recommend not wearing any clothing. Fill the ice water tub with cold water.

Warming up: Set the temperature in the warming room according to your preferences, but not less than 80°C, and use the hourglass inside the sauna to measure the warming time. For beginners, we recommend 8 to 10 minutes. For others, the sweating time should be between 10 and 15 minutes, but in any case, the person should always leave the room if they feel unwell or feel that they have sweated enough.

When warming up, lie down or sit down and breathe through your nose. If necessary, pour water with aromatic essence over the hot stones. You can massage the skin of your limbs with a washcloth or brush. Once the time allocated for warming up your body has elapsed, leave the warming room and always take a cold shower first. Use either a hand shower or a rain shower. If you only use a shower to cool down, shower for a few minutes, but no more than 5 minutes. If you use an ice water tub after showering, do so for a short time so that the cooling is still pleasant and you do not get hypothermia.

After each heating and cooling phase, there must be sufficient rest time, at least 15 minutes. It is highly recommended to replenish the water lost through sweating by drinking mineral water or fruit juices during the rest period. Alcohol, especially hard alcohol, significantly interferes with the effects of sauna bathing. Smoking is completely contrary to the principles of sauna bathing.

Based on the number of repetitions of hot and cold exchanges, we distinguish between the following types of saunas according to the resulting effect:
1 x  irritating
2 x  toning – invigorating,
3 x  relaxing – soothing,
4 x  inhibitory – suppressing,
5x and more – this is not proper sauna use, and therefore we do not recommend it.

We wish you a pleasant relaxation.
